PROCESS AND PRICING

No barriers no risk

For each step of our engagement you must know you are going to get more back than you invest.  I will always deliver value, never just an investigation, solutions and proposals that are also beneficial if you choose to stop at that point.

My engagement process is therefore as follows:

One line from you on your business and need

Free, no obligation, video chat(s)

  1. Build faith in the quality of the solutions I will offer.

  2. I will listen to your challenges and provide some ideas for you to implement.

  3. We will define a scoping exercise and the immediate cost / benefit to you of completing that exercise.

Scoping benefit and cost

In line with the defined scoping agreement I will spend some time in your business, remotely if necessary, to understand the challenges and propose some key improvements with recommendations on how to implement them

The result must be sufficiently robust to allow you take this away and take the next step alone.  I will not undertake a scoping exercise that does not return value in its own right.  I do not expect to profit from the scoping exercise.

The scoping document will include a transition plan and if you wish to proceed with my support we will undertake the transition plan.

Transition Plan

The transition plan will be structured in a modular (Agile) fashion, such that each step:

  1. Returns value

  2. Demonstrates progress in the agreed direction

  3. Would allow for the project to be terminated if you desire for any reason, including cash flow challenges

When is Lavant Innovation the right solution for you?

There is no one size fits all.  You have three options:

1.     Seek assistance from expert trainers or international consultancies

2.     Employ custom solutions as I will provide

3.     Do It Yourself, keep it cheap

International Consultancies and Specialist Trainers

There are a host of people who can offer you support, each solution has its place.

International Consultancies are good if you want to re-evaluate the entire business or know you need a “start from scratch” programme with access to the range of skills they can supply.  These consultancies will execute proven change programmes positioning you to move forwards, with access to a comprehensive range of skills to call on if they discover new challenges.  Their processes allow them to make good use of their less experienced staff and thereby provide you with a whole team to tackle the change programme.

Training courses are good if you feel that your teams are on the verge of success, have the right motivation and mentality, but just need that fine tuning.  Good training courses will provide the knowledge to set up the supporting processes.

Specialist consultant roles (for example a Scrum Master) are good if you have a good grasp of the challenges and the solutions but lack the specific resources to get to your goal.  An expert on the team is always a strength, they can help each individual grow by providing a stabilising point within the team.

Coaches are great for helping individuals that largely have the skills and knowledge but lack the self-belief, to help team members see the value of what they already know and make best use of their skills in an organisation.

Formulaic solutions can be effective but if you fear being left with paper knowledge and lacking the motivation to make change last a better solution for you will be:

Customised Support from Lavant Innovation

Frequently I see teams and organisations of capable people who want to do well.  From the Customer Relationship or Success Manager to the Engineer they need support building the picture of what success looks like for each stakeholder.  This is a customised and personal change programme.

This is the best solution if you want to get to the bottom of the issues quickly with a small investment and low risk.  If you think you have good people struggling to understand the challenges and focus on the right improvements.

I will work closely with individuals to ensure that everyone understands what is needed.  This will go beyond the processes and into teaching your team how to create a transparent environment that will bring lasting and growing benefit to your business.

Do it yourself

This is the best solution if you have access to experienced and skilled staff and this is not your key area for improvement efforts.  Motivate your team to implement continuous and strategic improvement.

Beware, if this is not their priority it is not likely to happen.

The cost of not acting

Where is all your money going, get back more than you put in with lasting benefit

Make 10 people 20% more efficient and immediately and forever save £5,000 per day.

These are your experts, but let’s keep it simple.

  • Let’s assume that you have a team of 10 staff with an average cost to the business (not salary) of £100,000 pa, all costs including rent and consumables etc.

  • Let’s assume that they work for 220 days in the year, but let’s drop 20 days assuming that is lost to admin tasks, so 200 “useful” days in the year.

  • That is a total of £1M invested over 200 days for every 10 experts

  • Or £5,000 per day

  • If your experts are 80% efficient you are throwing away £1,000 per day

That is £1,000 per day until you invest in fixing the problem, per team of ten.  And that is if you already believe they are 80% efficient:

  • How many times do you back track and have to do something twice

  • How many times do you have one team or staff member waiting on another

  • How much time do you spend arguing about what you said you needed

  • How much time do you spend explaining to customers what you have delivered

  • The list of things your team should not do, but are, is long……

Being efficient is much more than a process, it is a culture and attitude.  Invest a little in getting it right now and the benefits are everlasting.
